The 3 Rs: Reading, Reviews & Recs.
Let's chat about books!
Well, I had no expectations when this book came out. I thought that the character took a major nosedive in book 17 with all of the promiscuity. The whole Vordo thing was just plain stupid. I wondered if the author would do something, anything to mix it up a little bit. While this book was full of wonderful one liners that could only be delivered by the characters we know and love, the formula is no different than any of the last books.I will say that the way things were gradually revealed about the trip to Hawaii was a little more compelling, but the actual plot of the mystery part of the book - the hackers with the photograph - made actually no sense and weaved itself around until it perhaps strangled all of the significance out of anything that happened. The side plot with Joyce Barnhardt was irrelevant and while it seemed like something, the resolution was so hum drum, that I though "why bother."Again Stephanie is left out on a limb with her decision between the two guys. It's the same old, same old, same old thing. The only thing that saved it were the really sharp one liners. Honestly, the first half of the book was decent, but the way things got tied down, just bogged the whole thing down.
