The 3 Rs: Reading, Reviews & Recs.
Let's chat about books!
I liked this book a lot more than I thought I was going to as I began to read it. I did find the whole thing self-indulgent in a way. As she told her story in the initial pages and also was recounting her time in Italy, I could identify with it to a degree, having experienced some of those same things long ago.As she went on to India, she began to lose me a bit - getting out on tangents and specifics of her type of worship and it's history that didn't concern me. I loved the characters there and wish she would have delved in them more.I hated Bali. At first it wasn't bad, but the last part of her journey turned me off a little. Again, I loved the characters, but I couldn't identify with her last bit of healing.Overall, I did enjoy reading about the different cultures and walking beside this woman as she tried to achieve balance.
