This is the first book in the Boxcar children series, which introduces us to Henry, Jessie, Benny and Violet and tells the story of why they are called the boxcar children.Having already read a few of their books, my family wanted a chance to discover why "The Boxcar Children". The boys really enjoyed the story. It was perfect for them - held their interest, had short chapters with lots of action they could relate to, and had a very simple plot. We read this outloud before bed at night and they were sad that it had to come to an end, but fortunately, there are a "few" more adventures out there that they can even explore on their own.Great book for early readers, too. :)
