Shelly's Book Journal

This is a strange and haunting tale of orphaned writer David Martin living in Barcelona during the early part of the 20th century. He writes serial fiction and lives in the creepiest house in town. But an unbelievable deal with an out of town publisher leaves Martin with and unsettled feeling. He tries to solve the mystery behind this publisher and all of the authors previously contracted to him. For Shadow of the Wind fans, we see some of the characters from that book interwoven in with this one. It's on the edge of your seat reading, but the entanglements don't break down quite as nicely as SOTW.I love historical fiction and Zafon's Barcelona is always intriguing with it's history and old buildings. The setting is perfect, and the characters are fantastic. Am excited to see what will happen with his new book!
