The 3 Rs: Reading, Reviews & Recs.
Let's chat about books!
I love Malcolm Gladwell's books. He always comes up with obscure information to help us see the strength and weaknesses in our society. What is he talking about in Outliers? People who have gone outside the box to be successes and pointing out the quirks of fate that got them there and some of the hard work that did, too.He covers:-Why successful hockey players from Canada are most likely born in Jan, Feb or Mar. (Wayne Gretzky - January 28)-How the Hamburg Experience made the Beatles who they were.-The Magic of 10,000 hours-Which success stories were born at precisely the right time-Cultural inheritances that can bind us or make us a success.-Math in the Rice FieldsAnd there is so much more. Gladwell has a way of digging up the most unusual and fascinating statistics to awe us and inspire us, and make us look at things more closely.Highly recommend for the Cliff Clavens of this world, and anyone else who loves the little stories of success and what makes them happen.
