I would give this book a solid 4.5.The book is first person - the voice of Don DiMarco, the main character, who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 12 months to live. As he comes to grips with his destiny, Don makes a plan on how to spend those 12 months - visits down memory lane, a bucket list, quality time with his family. Even as he embraces these plans, other things happen that combined with his short term perspective, make him come to understand what things are truly important. I admit I struggled getting into this one, I think mostly because of the upcoming holidays. Yet, once Don started on his journey, and embraced it, I couldn't put it down. It will truly make you think about everything that you do. Don had that "I'll get to it someday" perspective for most of his life, but in retrospect, should he had lived his life for every day? This is the question that he asks himself. Is it a question we should be asking ourselves?Recommend for people who enjoy real life fiction stories.I was provided a complementary copy of the book by the author.
