I'm not much for vampire books, but I loved the refreshing take on the vampire story here. I always find it so interesting to see how authors create their vampire worlds and what "rules" the vamps must follow - what turns them, can they stay out in the day, how do they get their blood - it all varies from story to story. Hocking takes a good swing at it here.Saying that, I felt like the story was a little dragged out at times, and this series might be better served by condensing the story and combining some of the books together.
