This was a biography on the life of Vivaldi - from his humble beginnings to his death. It gives an overview of his life and his greatest works. It seems his life is not well documented, and the book reflects this. But it gives to us what it can as far as what is known and sets the backdrop of other things going on. It even addresses the affair that he was accused of having with one of his former Pieta students - although it does it in a subtle way considering the audience of this book.We learned a lot from this book about Vivaldi and things going on in Italy during the Baroque musical era.
