Thunder on the Plains: The Story of the American Buffalo
We enjoyed reading this book, despite it's sad nature. It really contributed to our discussion of the Western Expansion of the US. The book held the interest of both boys. It did discuss how the Bison came to be along with how it came to almost not be. Wish it could have been more specific about where herds are today, but most likely being general preserves it's shelf life.Recommend for: Elementary aged.
